DESIGN CONCEPT
Situated alongside the Tainan HSR Station, ICC Tainan is an architectural landmark in itself, as well as a reference to Tainan long history and bright future ahead.
ICC Tainan modern and airy design wants to honor the city’s urban and natural characteristics. The building’s striking red facade is an homage to both Chikan Tower and the Eternal Golden Castle, two iconic historical red brick buildings in Tainan.
With the seamless fusion of traditional and contemporary elements, combined with innovative mixed media, invites visitors to form a deep connection with Tainan's rich history and the world beyond.
As you step inside, you are greeted by a stunning steel structure, representing a whale skeleton, a symbol of the city long relationship with the animal and its mythological counterpart, the ‘Kunsheng’ (鯤鯓).
With the combination of tradition and modernity in mind, ICC Tainan also features solar panels on the roof that generate about 30% of its energy consumption.
Additionally, the captivating glass curtain wall in the North Plaza creates a mesmerizing play of lights and ambience throughout the day: a warm and inviting atmosphere, in morning and afternoon, a dynamic and vibrant setting at night.

PERMANENT ART INSTALLATION
ICC Tainan North Plaza features two large steel sculptures made by Spanish artist Juanjo Novella in 2021. The artworks take inspiration from two symbols of the city: the Pacific ocean and Anping Tree House.
TAINAN SEA GATE
The sculpture represents a monumental coral reef, with the face of a girl appearing in the steel. In addition to being a celebration of nature, it is also an obvious nod to Tainan maritime identity. Acting as a door, the gate invites the visitor to explore new areas, new perspectives, and reflects the vastness of the ocean.
NATURE SPREADS
Inspired by Anping Tree House and its surrender to nature, the steel composition depicts a lush forest as a symbol for life and prosperity. It is a reminder that nature always finds a way to take back its space. From afar, the face of a child can also be spotted in the structure, showing a sense of optimism towards the future.
Those human-made nature representations question the visitor on their coexistence with their natural environment. They reveal the artist’s sense of ecology and his hope for a new, environment aware generation, and they also resonate with ICC Tainan philosophy on sustainability.
VENUE PLAN
ICC Tainan boasts a large 10,000 sqm Exhibition Center that can accomodate up to 600 booths, perfect for tradeshows, exhibitions and concerts.
